COMMUNITY ECO-ACTION PROGRAMS
Plant Reynoldsburg Day and Clean Up Reynoldsburg Day/Week Program
A City of Reynoldsburg Parks and Recreation Department and Reynoldsburg Visitors and Community Activities Bureau driven program open for volunteers all age groups. Volunteers will be charged with participating in litter cleanups and beautification activities in public areas during Plant Reynoldsburg Day, Community Clean up Week and Day and to also actively participate in Keep America Beautiful Month.
Recycle MORE, Litter Less! Program
A new community wide awareness and education initiative that will work with Reynoldsburg residents and businesses to encourages everyone to actively participate in recycling and litter prevention.
Adopt A Park/Spot/Street Program
A volunteer group who will help keep Reynoldsburg's parks, selected gateway public areas and neighborhood streets, litter free and beautiful.
This program will work in partnership with the City of Reynoldsburg's Parks and Recreation Department and Service Department.
Zero Waste - Get Green Program
A volunteer group charged with coordinating energy audits and exploring applications for renewable energy technology for
Reynoldsburg' businesses, public facilities and neighborhood residences. The Zero Waste Get Green Team will assist in planning for a future ECO -FESTIVAL .
Recycling Raiders Program
A volunteer student driven group created to promote and coordinate the recycling programs of Keep America Beautiful's "Recycle-Bowl," and the Can Manufacturing Institute's "Great American Can Roundup." for implementation within the greater Reynoldsburg, Ohio area.
Keep America Beautiful's Recycle Bowl is a national recycling competition for K-12 schools that occurs each fall semester. Recycle-Bowl is designed for teachers, student green teams and facility managers to engage students and the community in recycling. The Can Manufacturing Institute's, Great American Can Roundup is an easy and fun way to raise money and help the environment by recycling aluminum beverage cans.
Recycle MORE, Litter Less! Community Awards and Recognition Program
A volunteer group comprised of a member from each of the Community Action Teams, a designated representative from Ward Districts 1-2-3- 4 and at Large Districts , representatives from; Reynoldsburg City Schools, Reynoldsburg Community Association, Reynoldsburg Police and Fire Departments, Reynoldsburg Chamber of Commerce, Mayor's office, Neighborhood Associations, Reynoldsburg Visitors & Community Activities Bureau et. al. The Awards and Recognition Team is charged with coordinating an annual community wide landscaping and beautification contest to include but not limited to; home owners, multi-family apartment complexes, and local businesses. Monetary prizes and special "Plant Pride Community Wide" yard signs will be awarded to the winners in each category. A Plant Pride Community Wide Awards and Recognition Ceremony will be held annually to recognize the landscaping and beautification contest winners, volunteers and sponsors.
Eco-Environmental Education & Employment Program
Eco-Education & Employment Program An initiative administered by Keep Reynoldsburg Beautiful's Education and Employment Team. The focus of this program is to raise funds to provide to provide scholarships for graduating Reynoldsburg High School students and coordinate an internship/employment initiative for our Youth and its Elder citizens.
